The Rules:
Entries will be accepted only from characters who have not previously had a blog for the character entered. Note that if you as a player have set up a blog for your character in the past, that character may not enter now or at any time in the future - but you may create a blog for an alt with no prior blog or website.
Contestants who have registered in this competition may re-register in subsequent competitions hosted by Lex, but will not be permitted to enter as that character again if that character is selected as a winner (in other words, one win allowed per character, but as many chances to win as you like).
You may (and are encouraged to) enter blog posts you write as Legendary Times submissions, and earn the prizes associated with submitting work to the LT, without risking your status in the Lex competition running.
You may enter more than one of your alts in the running at a time.
Prizes:
The winner will receive one (1) multi-colour and one (1) single-colour coupon.
A runner-up may be chosen depending upon how many entries are received.
A runner-up will receive one (1) single-colour coupon and one (1) non-colour coupon.
Negotiations for equal value coupons may be made if you would prefer 2 nons instead of a single, etc.
Entries will be judged on the following:
1) Quantity and more importantly, quality of character blog entries. This refers to the amount of thought given to the story you're telling and the quality of your writing. You will not win for half-baked, last-minute plots.
2) Reflection of your work in-game. If you write a beautifully-done biography or story for your character, but do not reflect that persona or dedication to the persona with your character in-game, you may be disqualified for the current round. You will lose credibility in the competition if you consistently slip out of character in game.
3) Design of the blog/web site overall, including graphic content, layout, player description/played-by/face claim content. Basically, how pretty/fitting the site is for your character.
4) Integration into existing roleplay melodramas or the lives of existing characters. This could mean anything, from your character making friends with another, making enemies, getting married, or becoming business partners. You will score extra points if you interact with other characters in the world and write about it in your in-character blog.
In summary: you will be judged on building a character, giving it a memorable face and persona, and giving this persona a distinct story for the enjoyment of yourself and the roleplaying masses.
Deadline: You must submit your blog URL to Zillah via MUDmail or email by APRIL 20.
Links for contestants in the current competition will be listed in the Clan Lex website's sidebar as we receive submissions (found on this page - bookmark it!) ;)
Please direct questions to Zillah via MUDmail, or by emailing zillahgrey at Gmail.

Look at some blogs already in existence for Legend characters for ideas on how it works. (Please note that some of the blogs are not PG, and some are probably NSFW):

Most people use Blogger.com to create their character blogs. To use this site, you will need a Gmail account for your character (I HIGHLY recommend you create a new Gmail - do not use your player's personal Gmail account for this.) Blogger.com takes you step-by step through the blog creation process, but if you want to get a little more creative, here are some other sites you may like to look at:
Blog Skins: http://www.blogskins.com/
Find a "PB" (played-by) or face claim at Hollow Art: http://www.hollow-art.com
Shop Hollow Art http://www.deviantart.com/ for background images, post content images, etc.
Good luck!
